We will guide you through the process of drain installation, ensuring your project complies with all legal requirements and our expertise could save you time and money. We are often called in to rectify errors made by so-called drainage engineers and builders who risk contamination by connecting a new toilet drain to a surface water manhole chamber.
It is always cheaper to employ a drainage expert from the outset.
Do I Need New Drains?
You could need new drains because your existing drains have a fault or you could be building a new property and need to create a drainage system.
If you are building an extension on your home such as an en-suite bathroom you will need to make sure the water flows safely out of your home through drains and gutters into the wastewater network or septic tank.
Domestically, if you are having trouble with your drains a CCTV drain inspection can usually find the fault and repairs can take place. If you are looking to build new drains the system will need to be mapped out by our fully qualified drainage contractors to ensure the safe release of water from your property.
Drain Mapping
Before we install your new drainage system or repair existing drains, we map out your drainage network. This informs us where your drains need to be and how they flow to the water network. Drain mapping is often undertaken to find faults in existing drainage systems or to complement new building work, ensuring correct drainage infrastructure is in place.
Do I need Planning Permission for New Drains?
For minor works such as replacing faulty drains in your home in Liverpool, generally, you do not need any planning permission. There are circumstances where we may need to work on the sewer network and here at Quinn we will advise what permissions need to be gained before we can start the work and also set this process in motion.
If your guttering is damaged and no underground work is needed, replacing these drains is very straightforward. If you have a new extension and we need to connect a drain to the sewer network, we will notify and gain the relevant permissions from the local authority.
Types of New Drain
In Liverpool, most of the homes now have UPVC drains. We can get you a certain colour such as white or black to your preference, you may want a certain colour to match with the other homes in the Neighbourhood. These are very hard wearing and can last a lifetime.
In some cases, people also have clay drains. These are typically found in older homes and some listed buildings. If you need new clay drains we can also source these for you so your home does not lose any of its existing aesthetic appeal.
